A bone mineral density test is a test to check the health of your bones to see if they are at a normal level or whether you have osteoporosis or not. Using the DEXA Scan machine, which is the most standard bone density measurement device available today. Used to diagnose osteoporosis.

• Who should be checked?
• Women aged 65 and over or men aged 70 and over
• Menopausal women
• Women who had both ovaries removed before menopause.
• People with a history of broken bones
• People who smoke, drink more than 4 cups of coffee per day, or drink more than 1 liter of soft drinks per day.
• People with diseases or conditions that cause bone mass to decrease, such as kidney failure, diabetes, arthritis, etc.

Bone mass has 3 parts:

• 1. Hip bone
• 2. Lumbar spine
• 3. Wrist bones
