Calcium Score is a coronary artery calcification test using a computerized tomography (CT) scan to examine coronary artery calcification and assess the risk of future coronary artery disease.

- People with underlying medical conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes
- People with a family history of heart disease
Preparation for the test
- No fasting is necessary before the Calcium Score test. Avoid caffeinated beverages such as tea, coffee, and other beverages containing caffeine at least four hours before the test.
- This is because caffeine can increase your heart rate, which may affect image quality.
- Refrain from smoking at least four hours before the test.
- Remove jewelry and metal objects, such as necklaces, belts, or other metal objects from your chest and neck, to prevent foreign objects from interfering with the scan image.
- Change clothes and wear the hospital gown provided by the hospital.
- Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or have any allergies to any medications.
What to Bring
- Personal Medication: If you are taking any medications, please bring them with you or consult your doctor about their medication.
- Prepare information about any underlying conditions or risk factors, such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
